St. Thomas' Preschool benefits from an active and generous community of parents who support our school in myriad ways throughout the school year. In addition to sponsoring social events and organizing fundraising activities, the Parents' Association creates an opportunity for parents to have their voices heard and to integrate themselves into school life. The Parent Association is open to all current school families and welcomes anyone willing to share a bit of time, talent and/or energy!
Visit our closed Facebook group for updates and conversation.
Admission open only to current STPS families – admission requests handled as quickly as possible by group Administration.
Parents' Association News
August 2, 2019
Dear Brown Memorial Preschool at St. Thomas Parents,
On behalf of the BMPS-ST Parents’ Association (PA), we would like to extend a welcome to our new and returning families! This letter has some introductory information about the PA.
About the Parent’s Association As part of the Brown Memorial Preschool at St. Thomas community, you already are a member of the PA. The PA provides a bridge between the school and the families and fosters the BMPS-ST social community. We encourage you to attend our meetings and consider volunteering in any way you can.
Meet & Greet, August 29 - 9:30-11:00 am – Outside (weather permitting – in Parish Hall if raining) The PA will help kick off our 2019-2020 school year with our annual Meet and Greet in which the students will be able to connect with old and new friends! It also is a good time to sign up to volunteer or be a room parent.
Welcome Tea and First PA Meeting, September 11 - 9:15am All current school parents and/or caregivers are welcome to come and see what the PA is all about! Location: Old School Building Conference Room [next to where the children have Chapel].
Room Parents Consider participating as a room parent – the volunteer time is minimal!! You will be a liaison for your teacher and parents, you will get to organize the class gifts, and you can assist with various events. We ask that our room parents try to attend our PA meetings, which are monthly or bi-monthly and usually held during the daytime after drop-off (9:15) – children welcome. Room parents will have additional meetings as needed.
Shared Google Calendar and PA Section of School Webpage. BMPS-ST will be operating a google calendar with links to all school events, major church events, and PA events so your school events can be found in one location! Calendars will be distributed monthly as well. Please also visit PA section of the school website (currently under construction).
Access and/or subscribe to the calendar at: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/b/1?cid=a21vcnJvd0Bicm93bm1lbW9yaWFsd2Vla2RheXNjaG9vbC5jb20
PA Facebook Page This year, the PA will be operating a closed Facebook page for reminders of PA and school events, links to important information, and a place for our parent community to communicate informally and quickly. You will receive an invitation to join the Facebook group prior to the beginning of the school year.
PA Emergency Contact and Dues Form (attached): PA Emergency Form: In the case of an emergency during PA events. PA Dues. This nominal fee helps defray the costs of the PA events throughout the school year.
